Prom night

A week ago I was attending my prom. Here in the Czech republic it's the celebration of our upcoming graduation, meaning I'll soon take my final and the most important exam of my life. It was a magnificent night. So much laughter. I don't really have much to say because these are those moments you have be part of to fully understand. It was also a night when we all realised that this is the last time we can have some fun. from now on it's gonna be hard, full of stress and studying. We all want to and need to pass, but sometimes the luck is not with us. Only thing we can do is to prepare for it and hope for the best.

About my outfit and a little opinion. It may seem a little bit odd that I didn't wear dress. I knew what I wanted to wear very exactly. I knew I don't want to be just this ordinary girl among the others, not meaning this like other girls didn't look fantastic. But let's face it. Girl, dress and prom are a little bit cliché together. Not like I wanted to be a prom's best dressed but I could imagine myself in this outfit more than in any dress. What was a little disappointment for me was a certain short-sightedness of some people. Some asked my friends if I'm a lesbian because of what I'm wearing. Please don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against people who are homosexual or bisexual or what else they can be. Everybody is perfect in their own way. So what makes me sad is that these people probably think that I have to be gay, to wear a masculine costume. As if it's right to put people in to  boxes. I'm not thin and I'm struggling with my weight for my whole life. People have always been mean to me because of how I look, they had bigger problem with my weight than I did. So I know how some people may think. And this is not the way it should be.

Anyway these photos are the best I  have. Most of them are shot by family members of other, but I love them anyway :) Enjoy

Love, Adel

  4. I love it! I think you looked awesome and definitely way to go for not doing the norm of prom dresses and all that. I actually wanted to veer away from that too when I went to my prom as I think it shouldn't just be dresses and us girls can dress masculine too if we want and I agree, it's sad when people just think immediately about sexuality just because of the way your dressed but at the end of the day you dress for you and you looked amazing and this totally made me want to go back to my prom night and dress in a tuxedo :D <3
